Excursions.
Around the Agriturismo Montepaolo there are several naturalistic
itineraries for walks on foot and trips riding bikes.

The excursions are guided by WWF experts.
Conversano.
Conversano is the nearest town, 3 kilometers far from the
Agriturismo. It is an old town with a castle, a cathedral
and archeological ruins.

Nine kilometers far from the Agriturismo there is the sea,
with beautiful beaches and the marvelous cliffs and caves
by the sea of Polignano a Mare.

Ten kilometers far from the Agriturismo there are the famous
caves of Castellana Grotte.

Bari is the most important city of Puglia, 25 kilometers
far from the Agriturismo. It is advisable to visit its old
city center.

In the North of Bari there is the suggestive Castel del Monte.

Alberobello is 20 kilometers far from the Agriturismo. Such
village is famous for the typical ancient constructions called
“Trulli” dated back 16th century.

Other interesting itineraries can be arranged around the
Agriturismo, which will provide you with all the information
you may need.
In addition to the beautiful beaches of the region, there are many historical and cultural areas to visit within a few kilometers of the Agriturismo. Some highlights are:
- Trulli of Alberobbello : beautiful limestone buildings with conical roofs unique to the Puglia region
- Caves of Castellana : a network of natural caves discovered in the 1930's known throughout the world for their magical beauty
- Castel del Monte : the mystical octagonal castle of Federico Barbarossa
- Museo Jatta : archeological treasures from the Magna Grecia period

Montepaolo has bikes available for its guests to explore the surrounding countryside that is rich with olive groves, almond and cherry trees, and vineyards.
Guests have the option of enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner at Montepaolo. Everything is prepared exclusively with fresh local ingredients, following traditional recipes that exude the flavors of Puglia .
During the harvest seasons, guests are invited to assist in gathering fruit and olives for fresh jam and olive oil. The owner also offers private or group cooking and painting courses upon request.
Montepaolo has a beautiful swimming pool and terrace built in 2004. Near the pool is the small rural 16 th century chapel complete with beautiful frescoes from 1641. There is also a large shaded courtyard where guests can relax or dine. The property is a beautiful setting for celebrating special events such as weddings, baptisms and birthdays.
